Submersible pump applications can involve pumping liquids with a wide variety of debris, solids, sludges, solvents and chemicals that cause wear, clogging and breakdowns for centrifugal pumps or diaphragm pumps. Pitbull submersible sump pumps and dewatering pumps are uniquely capable of handling solids. Inlet diameters (2-inch to 8-inch) are available with a suction capability (flow inducement) option that can pull in liquids and solids or viscous mixtures. Transfer pump applications often involve difficult fluids, which may include solids or debris. Pitbull air-operated transfer pumps are designed for this use, and are well suited for heavy or continuous use in high maintenance as well as self-priming applications. Its seal-less design handles 2” to 5.5” diameter solids, including liquids with abrasives, stringy materials, slurries and corrosives. Typical applications include tank sludge pump, ash, scale, sand and other abrasive slurry pump uses, tank car unloading, vacuum drum filters, clarifier underflow, trash and solids pumping applications.
Filter Press Pumps
Filter press pump and sludge transfer applications frequently cause centrifugal pumps or diaphragm pumps to fail, or require constant maintenance due to abrasion, inconsistent solids content, wide ranges in back pressure and simply heavy usage. Pitbull Pumps have an inherent ability to hand a wide range of solids content and discharge pressures for trouble-free operation. Hot Condensate Return Pumps
High temperature applications can be a challenge to conventional pumps with seals and motors. Pitbull high temperature condensate pumps do not have these limitations and are immune to cavitation. These pumps are designed for direct connection to a flash tank or receiver, and may also be used for submersed high temperature sump pump applications.

Non-metallic Submersible Pumps
For highly corrosive applications, submersible pumps ideally should be made completely of inert materials. Pitbull caustic or acid sump pumps are available in non-metallic materials that are inert to a wide variety of chemicals including acids (hydrochloric, sulfuric, nitric, and phosphoric), sodium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite. These pumps have no seals, bearings, or diaphragms that can be degraded by chemical exposure. In addition to in-plant sump pumps, the reliability of the Pitbull Pump makes it suitable for areas like tank car unloading, tank farms, secondary containment dikes, and hazardous and remote locations.
