Pitbull Pumps was founded in 1990 as the Chicago Industrial Pump Company (CIPC) by Matt Vetter, and today manufactures industrial pumps for a wide variety of applications. Matt invented the Pitbull Pump after identifying the pumping conditions that were poorly addressed with conventional submersible pump designs. Matt’s customers needed pumps that could handle debris, abrasive particles, and corrosives. But, centrifugal and diaphragm pumps were either over-engineered to be capable of the task or, their impellers, seals and diaphragms repeatedly failed, requiring repairs or replacement far too often to be the ‘best’ solution.
What is Our Revolutionary Industrial Pump Design?
Matt had a flash of inspiration from his work with downhole pumps for oil/water applications, and created a brilliantly simple pneumatic displacement pump design that has only two check valves and a hollow chamber. The Pitbull Pump uses compressed air as the motive force or “piston†to move liquids and solids into and out of the chamber. The pump is tolerant of a wide range of debris, and its lack of seals, motors, diaphragms, and impellers simplifies chemical resistance and tolerance to hot liquids. This simple design also means that maintenance is kept to a minimum, and is easy to perform when needed. Pitbull Pumps employ an innovative, indeed revolutionary, design that finally solves many of the industry’s difficult pumping challenges.
Where Has Our Passion for Pumping Taken Us?
Matt’s passion for solving difficult pump problems carries over to his attention to customer service. Each customer’s individual pumping application is analyzed carefully to provide the best Pitbull Pump for their needs. The company is known for the simplicity and reliability of its pumps, and for providing outstanding customer service. The company continues to grow and expand, and currently provides innovative pumping solutions to the petrochemical, grain, coal, steel, power, oil and gas, mining, food processing and automotive industries worldwide.
