Plant engineers often need an industrial sump pump that can handle solids, corrosive liquids, or meet explosion-proof requirements, but find their conventional equipment breaks down too often to be effective. Pitbull pneumatic displacement pumps can tackle a wide range of these difficult applications due to their simple design consisting of two check valves and a hollow pump chamber.
The pumping action of the inflow and discharge cycles allows any kind of liquid and/or solid to flow through its wide ports and check valves without clogging. And, the all-pneumatic operation eliminates shock hazards and is suitable for explosion-proof pump requirements.

Submersible Pumps
Submersible pump applications can involve pumping liquids with a wide variety of debris, solids, sludges, solvents and chemicals that cause wear, clogging and breakdowns for centrifugal pumps or diaphragm pumps. Pitbull submersible sump pumps and dewatering pumps are uniquely capable of handling solids. Inlet diameters (2-inch to 8-inch) are available with a suction capability (flow inducement) option that can pull in liquids and solids or viscous mixtures. Applications include sumps for heavy, settled solids, coal handling sumps, any outdoor trash and debris sumps, spent grains, bottom ash and clinker sumps, machining chips, packing plant waste, poultry offals, feathers, raw sewage pump, battery sludge pump, tank farm sumps, slop oils, lime slurry pump, and sand/silt.
Transfer Pumps
Transfer pump applications often involve difficult fluids, which may include solids or debris. Pitbull air-operated transfer pumps are designed for this use, and are well suited for heavy or continuous use in high maintenance as well as self-priming applications. Its seal-less design handles 2†to 5.5†diameter solids, including liquids with abrasives, stringy materials, slurries and corrosives. Typical applications include tank sludge pump, ash, scale, sand and other abrasive slurry pump uses, tank car unloading, vacuum drum filters, clarifier underflow, trash and solids pumping applications.
Filter Press Pumps
Filter press pump and sludge transfer applications frequently cause centrifugal pumps or diaphragm pumps to fail, or require constant maintenance due to abrasion, inconsistent solids content, wide ranges in back pressure and simply heavy usage. Pitbull Pumps have an inherent ability to hand a wide range of solids content and discharge pressures for trouble-free operation. The simple design of the Pitbull Pump with a wide fluid path provides a low-maintenance solution for sludge pump, slurry transfer pump, filter press feed pump or dewatering pump applications.
Hot Condensate Return Pumps
High temperature applications can be a challenge to conventional pumps with seals and motors. Pitbull high temperature condensate pumps do not have these limitations and are immune to cavitation. These pumps are designed for direct connection to a flash tank or receiver, and may also be used for submersed high temperature sump pump applications.
Custom Pumps
Challenge us to solve your industrial pump performance problems! We can develop a custom pump configuration to fit just about any application requirement. Corrosion-resistant specialty alloys like hastelloy or alloy-20, or completely non-metallic pumps are available for high corrosive applications. Application examples include evaporators and distillers (under vacuum), knock-out pots, shear sensitive and low emulsification pumps and oil/water separation.
Control Panels
Controls panels are provided for different applications and pump models. See Specifications for more details.
